The 280M
2026
A global movement of just 3.5% of us can change the world.
280M is a global movement with an audacious premise. If 3.5% of the world's population (280 million people) moves together in strategic, nonviolent action, transformative change becomes inevitable. The site had to carry the weight of that idea. It needed to make the scale feel reachable, the vision feel urgent, and the invitation feel personal.
Our branding work started at the roots, literally. The visual system pulls from nature, interconnection, and the tension between the world we're inheriting and the one we can build. We wanted something that felt alive rather than institutional, closer to a living movement than a polished nonprofit. Warm earth tones, hand-touched typography, and imagery that treats the planet as kin instead of backdrop. The centerpiece is a custom scroll-driven intro sequence built in Framer. As visitors scroll, a tree grows from the ground up, its roots revealing the deep systems (colonialism, patriarchy, hyper-individualism, capitalism) that shaped our present moment. Then the frame shifts, and new roots emerge in their place: mutual aid, restorative justice, regenerative economies. It's a slow, physical unfolding of an idea that could otherwise feel abstract, and it asks the reader to stay with it.
Across desktop, tablet, and mobile, the experience holds its emotional weight. The copy doesn't flinch from the moment we're in, but the whole site opens into hope by the end. Beyond the scrolly sequence, we designed and built out the full manifesto, pledge, about, and vision pages, giving 280M a home that can grow as the movement does.
