We stepped in to strategically modernize the organization from the inside out: refreshing the brand identity, evolving its narrative, and building a communications system designed for reach and resonance.

Theatre Advocacy Project is a nonprofit providing human resources tools, support, and infrastructure for people working in theatre and performance art, an industry where HR is often overlooked or nonexistent. With 85% of professional theatres lacking formal HR structures and only 6% of artists having a safe way to report harm, TAP fills a critical gap. While their mission was powerful and their track record strong, the brand hadn’t evolved in years and was struggling to keep pace with the movement it was leading.

What The Client Wanted
TAP came to us ahead of a major fundraiser, looking not just to raise money but to reintroduce themselves with clarity and confidence. They needed to reconnect with their core community while extending their reach to new partners, funders, and audiences. That meant refreshing the brand with respect for its foundation, amplifying its mission, and creating tools to drive long-term visibility, funding, and impact.
What We Made Happen
We partnered with TAP as an extension of their internal team to lead the creative direction, structure, and copy for a full website refresh in collaboration with a UI/UX development team. We guided the brand’s visual updates, including new colors, fonts, and design guidelines that balanced heritage with a modern feel. For TAP’s fundraiser, we developed a unique event concept for their industry, created collateral and digital assets, and produced their first merchandise line. We also designed social media graphics and provided strategy to help maintain momentum after the event. Together, these efforts strengthened TAP’s presence and equipped them with tools to carry their mission forward.
